Apostille Documents for Use In China

Using Canadian Documents in China

China is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention, which means Canadian documents can be used in China through a standard authentication process called apostille.

To ensure your documents are accepted, please follow the steps below:

✔️ Step-by-Step Process

Step 1: Translation (if needed)
If your document is in Chinese (for example: Power of Attorney, Birth Certificate, or Death Certificate), it must be translated into English before notarization.

Step 2: Notarization
Once translated, the document must be notarized by an Ontario Notary Public (we can assist you with this step).

Step 3: Apostille
After notarization, the document is submitted to ServiceOntario for apostille.

✔️ Translation Options

You have two acceptable options for translation:

Option 1: Certified Canadian Translator

Tby a Certified Canadian Translator. You can find a certified translator here : https://atio.on.ca/directory/

This is the most common and widely accepted option.

Option 2: Notarized Translation (Attestation)

Your document may also be translated by an us as Notary Public who is fluent in English (or French) and Chinese.

In this case, we, the Notary Public must include a statement confirming that:
