Notarize High School Transcripts and Diplomas
With more Ontario high school graduates applying to universities abroad in countries like Iraq, the UK, and Australia, notarizing your high school transcripts and diplomas is an essential first step in your journey.
When applying to universities abroad, institutions require proof that your academic records are authentic. Notarization, performed by a licensed notary public, certifies the legitimacy and accuracy of your documents, ensuring they are accepted by foreign institutions.
What is an Apostille, and Do You Need It?
Beyond notarization, some countries require an Apostille—a certification that verifies the notarization of your documents, making them valid in countries that are part of the Hague Apostille Convention. For countries not part of this convention, additional legalization steps are required.
For example, if youʼre applying to a university in Iraq, after notarizing your documents and getting them authenticated by Service Ontario, the next step is to contact the Iraq Embassy in Ottawa for further legalization.
Ensure your academic journey abroad starts smoothly by taking these necessary steps.
